    Treatment contrast between USA and Europe

    One of our clients has asked what scientific studies were used to provide evidence that head lice can be transferred through the sharing of hats/scarves/soft toys etc. In America, this has led to a significant market in head lice 'laundry' products for the treatment of bed linen/clothes etc to rid your house of head lice. Generally, this is in contrast to Europe where no such market exists

    The Same but Different

    There are many important similarities in the treatment of head lice in Europe and the United States including agreement that :-
    • head lice aren't dangerous,
    • head lice don't spread disease
    • head lice are contagious
    • head lice are downright annoying
    • the comb is an important tool
